Following a historic Olympic Games in Rio for Team GB, Women in Sport proudly unveils a series of events and webinars funded by Sport England using insight and research. These are designed to empower and equip even more people to transform sport for the benefit of every woman and girl in the UK.
Women in Sport’s Insight: On Tour events funded by Sport England share our learning from recent insights and explore, with partners, how to best action these findings. We will be taking these sessions ‘On Tour’ around the country with the aim of reaching new audiences and making our insight more accessible.
These events will be a mixture of interactive workshops and online events.
Women in Sport’s Senior Partnerships Manager, Jennie Platt believes now is an opportune moment for the sports sector to re-assess its offering to women and girls.
“Rio 2016 has gripped the whole of the UK with demonstrations of inspiring skill and sporting excellence, alongside moments of grit and determination. Team GB’s performance, across so many disciplines, has inspired millions.”
“A real highlight has been the exposure of women’s sport to the masses. We want to capitalise on this, by supporting partners, sports providers, individuals and groups to ensure their plans to capitalise are insight-led. We know, now more than ever, women and girls across the UK want to get active and enjoy the benefits of sport. These range of events are attune to this and provide unique expertise to ensure a sustainable and long-term legacy.”
