The Netball Europe Open Championships 2015 start today – and for the first time, all of the competition’s matches will be available on live-stream!
The Championships, hosted this year in Belfast, will feature England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales as well as the sixth and ninth ranked teams in the world,
South Africa and Trinidad & Tobago. In addition to the main high-performance competition, an additional development section will see Malta, Switzerland and Ireland matches also broadcast via live stream.
Fans can access the live HD coverage, produced by QTV Sports, by purchasing Day Passes (£9.95) or Tournament Passes (£19.95). OnDemand access will also be available, and all matches will be available for catch-up until the end of July 2015. The coverage will be presented by Alison Mitchell.
Netball Europe Chair, Lyn Carpenter, said:
“Netball Europe is delighted to have signed this partnership to deliver live coverage of the Open Championships. This is one of the biggest netball competitions in the world and the region is excited to welcome South Africa and Trinidad & Tobago to compete against Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England.
“We’re equally excited to enable our developing nations – Malta, Switzerland and Ireland – to showcase their performances to their fellow netballers, spectators, volunteers and – importantly – government agencies and potential sponsors.”
“Netball has made huge strides as a globally-recognised sport but there is much to do to support – and improve opportunities to play in – those member countries where netball is not a core curriculum sport in schools, or where there is limited government support or facilities.”
