BMC

The BMC is the national organisation representing climbers, hill-walkers and mountaineers. There are many different types of climbing – both indoor and outdoor.  A good place to start is a taster session at your local climbing wall or by joining a club.

How to Get Started – some top tips on getting started in climbing

Climb Indoors – find an indoor climbing wall in your local area

Join in Outdoors – find an outdoor climbing, hill walking or mountaineering club in your local area

Canal & River Trust

The Canal & River Trust is a charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways. Research has shown that spending time by water, whether it be your lunch break, daily commute or just a weekend stroll, really can make us feel happier and healthier. The canals and rivers run through some of the most heavily populated communities in England and Wales, providing accessible green and blue space where it’s needed the most.

Find your Local Canal – Find the waterways local to you and the activities that you can take part in – boating, walking, canoeing, angling and cycling are all great ways of enjoying the waterways.

Canal and River Walks near me – The Canal and River Trust have worked hard to ensure that towpaths are open and accessible so that everyone can enjoy a waterside ramble.
