The BMC is the national organisation representing climbers, hill-walkers and mountaineers. There are many different types of climbing – both indoor and outdoor.  A good place to start is a taster session at your local climbing wall or by joining a club.

Canal & River Trust

The Canal & River Trust is a charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways. Research has shown that spending time by water, whether it be your lunch break, daily commute or just a weekend stroll, really can make us feel happier and healthier. Our Parks

Our Parks was founded in 2014 with the purpose of offering easy access to exercise to everyone. They want to help improve the health and well-being of communities as well as maximise the usage and benefits of amazing parks and open spaces. Since the end of March, classes have temporarily moved online but you can still sign up and attend, with over 10 classes streamed live per day for free.

Free Live HIIT – Join the Our Parks live Bootcamp from the comfort of your home. This class is a body weight class and no equipment needed.

Couch to Fitness – A 9-week workout plan with 3 free video sessions per week. Join in with online classes from the comfort of your own home, and get fitter at your own pace.

This Mum Runs

This Mum Runs is the world’s largest running community for Mums. They aim to change how women feel about exercise, forever, empowering Mums everywhere to be happier and healthier. The founder Mel has created a global community of more than 100,000 women connected through running. Their ethos is simple: focus on minutes moving and how running makes you feel (instead of distance or pace), and literally anyone can do it.

This Mum Runs Run 30 app – Download the This Mum Runs app for a simple programme that coaches you through running for 30 minutes. It’s a great programme that mums and daughters can follow together – allowing time together and working towards a shared goal.
