Emma joined Women in Sport in March 2020 after completing her Master’s with a focus on environmental justice and subsequently working in travel marketing. Although she grew up participating in traditionally gendered sports such as dance, she is now a keen (very amateur) climber. In 2017, she trekked 600 miles across the Pyrenees Mountains to raise money for Kidney Research UK. These experiences made her passionate about representation of women in ‘extreme’ sports and breaking down binary stereotypes of what women can be – particularly for those from marginalised backgrounds.
